JOHN'S GUITARS - 2002 EPIPHONE LES PAUL STANDARD VINTAGE

A Korean-made Epiphone Les Paul electric guitar. Serial U0111529. Scuffs to body and missing a string. With hardcase. Owned and used by John Martyn.

Condition Report:

The overall condition of this instrument can be classified as ‘Very Good’. The most notable markings are found to the rear of the body, with moderate scratching seen to the centre of the rear face, consistent with mild playwear or ‘buckle rash’. The bridge and tailpiece show mild signs of oxidation, with the chrome plating flaking away in some places. Aside from moderate corrosion of the frets which could be removed, there are no further markings of note.

Originality and Modifications:

The serial number of this guitar dates it to 2002, having been made in the Unsung factory in Korea.

The guitar appears in entirely original condition with no modifications apparent.

The Epiphone Les Paul is an affordable version of the Gibson Les Paul, and has been in production since 1989. Produced in Korea, Indonesia and China, the Epiphone Les Paul Standard mimics the specification of the Gibson Les Paul with a mahogany body and neck, carved maple top and rosewood fingerboard. Twin humbucking pickups are featured, along with a 3-way toggle switch and independent controls for volume and tone. The pickups in this particular guitar are Epiphone ‘57 Classics.
