CARSHALTON HIGH SCHOOL FOR GIRLS - GENESIS TO JAZZ LP (ORIGINAL PRIVATE RELEASE - CHSG LP1). Massively intriguing self-released LP featuring the Carshalton High School For Girls with their (possibly late 60s/early 70s) LP Genesis To Jazz. With white labels showing no information, machine stamped matrix CHSG LP 1 A & 1 B. The record is in very clean Ex condition showing only a couple of very light, minor and faint surface hairline marks. The hand designed sleeve is in VG+ condition with some general foxing/ageing, though with strong integrity. 'Tasting notes' from someone who owned a copy: "A very interesting item that only comes up for sale very occasionally and is sought after, mainly for the first 4 tracks on Side one….the first song sounds like it could have come out of the Wicker Man soundtrack!... Weird chanting, bells, noises etc. Track three, in particular, is a beautiful, acoustic guitar-led song, with a voice reminiscent of a young Sandy Denny.

"Even after the first 4 tracks there are some nice pieces…a cool jazzy version of ‘Feeling Groovy’ in particular, and Side Two is largely comprised of a Musical about Daniel in the Lions Den with some nice psychedelic touches!"
