"Here’s some history about how I acquired the above poster.
Back around 2001 time, my friend in France told me that Concert Promoter Pierre Benain was thinking of selling the posters that Malcolm McLaren had sent him back in July 1976,
The posters were sent to be pasted up to promote the first Pistols gig overseas, some were used but some were kept by Pierre, he even had the original brown paper complete with post mark and stamps that Malcolm had sent them in. ( I did try to get this but he wanted to keep it with his own poster , I did get to see it though.)
After some discussions and haggling I was able to strike a deal to buy 5 Chalet posters, for what felt like an enormous amount of money back then, my French friend arranged to travel to the U.K. with Mr Benain and I met them at Waterloo station , the posters were fantastic, still vibrant , yet still with an old feel to them, the deal was done!
The posters were sold on to fellow collectors and friends, one to Bradford, one to Melbourne Australia (via a well known dealer in Kent) , one went to the USA, who went on to sell to a Japanese collector many years later, one went to a friend in Surrey about 2012 who sold a few months later to the ‘Punk Museum’ in Italy for a handsome profit I may say.
The last poster I kept in my collection near 15 years before deciding to sell to a good friend Ben Chapman, this is the poster being offered now. I can confirm it is one of the original 5 I had from Pierre Benain all those years ago. It’s a fantastic piece and I wouldn’t mind having it back myself !"
