One of the highlights of this job and a real pinnacle, was TOTP. For years we played, as opposed to miming, making complete nuisances of ourselves, which fitted in well with our punk ethic - the trouble with playing live is that we always sounded shit, but it didn't bother us if the record went down or up! The great bit was when other bands used to apologise to us for miming! I once put feedback all the way through OMDs new single and all of the crew were trying to work out where it was coming from. Jonathan Ross became a good friend over the years and we disgraced ourselves on our show, doing a horrendously drunken version of 'JetStream'.
