I have loved the NME Awards ever since they started as an answer to the pomposity of The Brit Awards... and then became as pompous... We never, to my knowledge, won any others, just this, 'Godlike Genius'. A great day, I must say... the highlight was having a piss next to Danny Dyer... when I told Liam Gallagher he was very impressed. Sadly after we played, you couldn’t get into the dressing room for ‘Off Their Heads Comedians’ and it went downhill rapidly... I slunk off back to KWest Hotel where we were staying and spent the night listening to my family softly snoring while The Libertines and The Kaiser Chiefs ran around the corridors screaming! No one said it would be easy ;)
