FRANK SINATRA - ACETATE RECORDINGS. Unique collection of 7 x acetate recordings featuring Ol' Blue Eyes. Recordings include 1) a 7" 45 acetate of Sinatra and the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra doing "The Starlit Hour," "Shake Down Stars," "Without a Song," and "Dolores," approximately 1940, includes a hand-designed outer sleeve showing the track list and likeness of the singer, condition: VG/VG with surface marks) 2) a 10" acetate with blank label printed "Sample Record - Not for Sale" and "Come Fly With Me" written on one side, with "Tonight" on the other, VG condition; 3) a 10" acetate of "Flowers Mean Forgiveness," stamped "Barton Music Co," - please note G+ condition, includes a "Mitchells of Erith" sleeve; 4) a 10" acetate featuring a blank blue Master Sound System label, with "A.F.R.S. Show / Sinatra" written in pencil on one side, condition: G+; 5) a group of three 12" acetates - one marked "Unissued Test from Victor / 33 1/3 RPM / I Tried / Tommy Dorsey Orch / Vocal by Sinatra" in black ink, the second marked "33 1/3 / 1. My Melancholy Baby / 2. " " " / 3. Mighty Like a Rose" in black and blue ink, and the third simply marked sides one and two in blue ink, with "FS" written in pencil on side two; conditions range from G+ to VG+. It's unknown if any of these recordings are released or unreleased versions. Originally sold by Heritage Auctions in April 2018.
