Peter Saville decided to just use stock photos for this sleeve, so it was like a separate advert for every song, then blending them together on a computer. It worked well, I thought. I remember Rob Gretton loved the ‘Regret’ sleeve, and when we played Top Of The Pops, got a huge backdrop of it made at a cost of about £2000. It was hung for the performance and Rob said, “It’ll look great in the Hacienda that!’ But when we got home, we realised the roadies had left it at the BBC and when we phoned, it had disappeared. It was huge!
