A copy of Charlie Drake 'Hello, My Darlings' (GEP8720) signed to reverse of sleeve by Johnny Rotten with inscription 'To Danny' and a doodle of a star and the words 'true star' (referring to Charlie Drake). Also a c 1988 'NEWMAT' 'ALBSU' published Sex Pistols biography booklet.
"To the best of my memory I got this signed at a house in Chelsea one evening where various Sex Pistols and punk people gathered to smoke dope and play endless dub records - two things that have never really floated my boat. I always had a bag of records on me somewhere and during a break from the perpetual Joe Gibbs sounds I remembered I’d bought this off a stall in Berwick Street earlier that day. “Here!” I said, “Whack this on!” JR took it, squinted at it and said, “Bugger me, its a Charlie Drake record.” Then everyone started singing, “My boomerang won’t come back.” They thought it was very funny to see a Charlie Drake EP but they still didn’t put it on. Now I don’t like to make wild claims but I reckon this must be one of the very few Charlie Drake records in existence that has been signed and approved by Johnny Rotten. Makes autographed copies of Pretty Vacant seem pale by comparison if you ask me."
