An original 1st US copy of Bob Dylan - Bob Dylan (CL 1779, six-eye, CLP1779, XLP 55619-1E P to side one runout, VG/VG+ with light scuffs across playing sides, clean original inner, Ex sleeve). The reverse of sleeve is signed clearly in blue ink by Bob Dylan who has also inscribed "Me" - next to his printed name on the sleeve. Also included is the original Scheaffer's fountain pen, owned by the vendor since the period and which was used to sign the sleeve.
Provenance: the vendor worked on the RMS Queen Mary transatlantic route in the 1960s between Southampton and New York, and when in NYC was a frequent attendee at folk clubs in Greenwich Village. In September 1961 he attended a performance by Bob Dylan at 'Gerdes Folk City', making a recording (

this lot). He also obtained handwritten directions/instructions from Dylan (on the back of an original ticket for this performance at 'Gerde's) on how to visit Woody Guthrie, who was in hospital at the time (
