THE BEATLES INTEREST - YOKO ONO - C1968 CORRESPONDENCE ON FILMS AND FILMMAKING.

A fascinating collection of original correspondence between Yoko Ono, Tony Cox and our vendor's parents, who had worked with Ono/Tony on earlier films. The filmmaker in question is William Wareing who would also work with Lennon/Ono on 'Two Virgins' and 'Film No 5'. To include: Telegram to read 'PLEASE CALL YOKO TELEPHONE LONDON HUNTER 1931 IMMEDIATELY STOP WILL SEND YOU PLANE TICKETS TO COME FOR HER NEXT FILM MUST START RIGHT AWAY'. An invite to the private view and premiere of 'Film No 4' with lengthy note from Yoko Ono to verso. A June 1968 letter from vendors’s father to his wife who was also a close friend of Yoko, with line ’Yoko is living with John Lennon (I’m not sure in what role)

A typed letter on Yoko Ono letterhead dated 5th Feb 1968 signed by Yoko, in which she complains of funding and money troubles. A November 1967 'chain' letter, sent between a veritable 'who's who' of the avant-garde art world inc Yoko Ono, Merce Cunningham, La Monte Young and others. A page / invite for Yoko Ono's show at Lisson gallery, Oct - Nov 1967 and second page of Yoko Ono letterhead with note 'Yes - and you can stay with us. We have extra room. See you soon, love Tony & Yoko'. Five sides of writing in a letter from Tony Cox in which he discusses having seen a UFO over London (interestingly and seemingly a precursor to Lennon/Pang experience in NYC) from his balcony.

Also with original Apple stationery inc envelopes (three) and notepaper (three sheets). Also to include postcard from our vendor's father to his mother, postmarked May 1968 to read 'I'm In London making a film with John Lennon cheerio'.

Also a copy of John Lennon's responses to a 'Marcel Proust' questionnaire with significant portions tipex'd out, (some original notes can be seen beneath the tipex, these were likely provided for usage in a possible film, also a copied sketch/outline for possible Apple film, titled 'Apple Films Present Apple'.
