GUSTAV MAHLER (1869-1911).

A correspondence card with embossed heading 'Der Director Des K.K. Hof-Operntheaters' (dated later, Vienna 1897-1907) with two sides of writing and a signature by Gustav Mahler. Card 12.5 x 10cm approx. Good condition. With a modern page from a booklet with translation pasted to verso. The letter refers to Mahler trying to arrange a meeting with a doctor.

Provenance: from an astonishing collection of classical music ephemera which includes autographs from many of the 20th century's most renowned conductors and composers. Collected over many years by a former orchestral manager of Liverpool Philharmonic.
