Moby was always a great fan and responsible for launching us back into America with his Area 1 tour. God I was ill on that tour... caught a virus in Japan funnily enough, the one Slim caught the first time we ever went in the early 80s. I lost 2 stone in 4 days... I thought I wouldn’t be able to play and it was Billy Corgan who saved me with a couple of Tamiflus... first time I wandered off stage. The highlight was undoubtedly our guesting on his cover version of ‘New Dawn Fades’... the faces of people watching John Frusciante teaching me and Barney the bass and guitar will haunt me forever. It was wonderful, and afterwards, I stood with Barney at the side of the stage and he turned to me and said, “When are we doing that song with Moby” “Eh?" We’d just done it!
