An excellent collection of concert programmes to include: Dresden State Orchestra 1936 conducted by Richard Strauss with two original ticket stubs as well as number of review cuttings pasted into programme, a 1936 booklet for a Chopin recital by Alfred Cortot signed to front of programme by Alfred Cortot, a Carnegie Hall programme with signature to front cover by Walter Gieseking, a 1933 programme for a concert conducted by Furtwangler, further programmes featuring Cortot, Fricsay, Gigli, Vienna State Opera.
Provenance: from an astonishing collection of classical music ephemera which includes autographs from many of the 20th century's most renowned conductors and composers. Collected over many years by a former orchestral manager of Liverpool Philharmonic.
