A collection of master tapes and cassettes featuring recordings made by 'Lord' Tim Hudson, British star of radio and television, circa mid-1960s. Most notably, the recordings include a tape with full interviews, unedited and with much likely previous unheard and not broadcast, with all four Beatles on 15th August 1965. The interviews were conducted by Tim for his show on KCBQ of San Diego and include approx 40 minutes of recordings with the band, as well as some recordings of Tim trying to ask questions to hordes of screaming fans awaiting their arrival.
Notable moments from the interviews include:
George Harrison talking about making Help!. Talks about changing fashions. Talks about not missing people in Liverpool - his main friends John, Paul and Ringo. Talks about popular clubs in London and interviewer Tim asks whether the ‘In crowd’ attend the clubs, George says “Well, the in or out crowd, depends which way you look at ‘em”. On columns ‘written’ by the Beatles “It’s all a load of rubbish”
Paul McCartney on being a ‘leader of the young people of the world’ “we’re not leaders - leave that to Lyndon Johnson and all them”.
Ringo interview features some wonderful soundbites of him poking fun at the interviewer's hard-to-read crib sheet.
John Lennon on his opinion on Vietnam war - “I think it’s all lousy” and on war “I don’t think I can stop war”.
Included with this lot are two cassette tapes with copies/edits of the Beatles interviews as well as many others conducted by Tim during the period including with Andrew Loog Oldham, PJ Proby, Brian Jones, The Moody Blues, Bill Wyman, The Seeds.
Also - several tapes to include some of Tim's shows on Piccadilly Radio, a VHS tape with documentary on Tim's life and career. All tapes and cassettes have been fully and professionally digitised.
NOTE Only the recordings made by Tim of The Beatles are being offered with copyright here.
