This was sourced for me by a Builder who did our kitchen in Didsbury, found it in a junkyard and thought he would weave it into the fabric of our new kitchen, which he did to great effect. When we moved I just couldn’t leave it, it felt wrong. Hofners were very popular in '60s group culture. I did find it’s bass equivalent, which was exactly the same colour, in The Bass Centre when it was on Oxford Road, opposite the BBC, but at £600 I couldn’t afford it.
