A Goodyear Eagle F1 tyre - by repute race used. Obtained by the vendor who offers the following as provenance:

"Regarding the tyre it came via a chain of print and art shops called Framework in 1992. They were holding a motor racing exhibition of prints and original works by the well known automotive artist: Alan Fearnley. As part of the exhibition, they had a used set of two front and two back F1 tyres. The owner of Framework said to me if I purchased a painting he would let me have one of the tyres at the end of the exhibition. I did and when I collected it he told me he had got it through a contact at Silverstone who said it came off Nigel Mansell’s Williams F1 car but there was no documentation given.

The tyre itself is a Goodyear Eagle F1 large rear tyre manufactured between 1981 and 92. I believe it is the largest tyre ever used in F1 as new regulations in 1993 reduced tyre size. Nigel Mansell became F1 world champion in 1992 including winning the British Grand Prix at Silverstone"
