THE ROLLING STONES - 'LET IT BLEED' - ORIGINAL UK APPLE ACETATE RECORDING
THE ROLLING STONES - 'LET IT BLEED' - ORIGINAL UK APPLE ACETATE RECORDING. Unprecedented to see original UK 8 track acetate LP recording from The Rolling Stones, this recording from 1969 a 'working title' for Let It Bleed. This acetate provides a fascinating insight into the Stones history in that it contains the tracks 'Sister Morphine' and 'Loving Cup'; these would not be commercially released until 1971 and 1972 on the albums 'Sticky Fingers' and 'Exile On Main St.' respectively. The track 'Loving Cup' is significantly different to the commercial release; the piano arrangement being the most notable which is far more decorative here than that was later released. The remainder of the tracks appear to be the same versions as to those commercially released, though the mix here is clearly not the 'final' version (some guitar sections are less prominent, the backing vocals at times further back in the mix). With printed paper Apple Custom Recording labels, the track listing as follows. Side One: Midnight Rambler, Love In Vain, Let It Bleed, Monkey Man. Side Two: Give Me Some Shelter (noting the track title was later amended to 'Gimmie Shelter'), You Got Some Silver Now (noting the track title was later amended to 'You Got The Silver'), Sister Morphine and Loving Cup. The record is in VG condition - there are some surface marks to the playing surfaces with the acetate slightly 'faded' though there is no real deterioration to the aluminium lacquer. There is a slight 'chip' on the run-in on a small section, though this is certainly not of a larger nature. The recording plays well throughout with a few small skips. The paper labels are in clean order, 'M' in white ink next to the 'R' in Rolling Stones, and a name (Lynne Westerman) in pen on the side 2 label. Surely a must have for any dedicated Stones fan.
