First promo press photos of The Sex Pistols, shot by photographer Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson (he was a member of Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV & Coil) but never used, since Malcolm McLaren found them too risqué.
Peter Christopherson, whose workspace was next to the Sex Pistols’ rehearsal space in Denmark Street, was a member of the Hipgnosis design studio, and went on to become a member of industrial bands Throbbing Gristle, Psychic TV and Coil.
Provenance: These photographs originally belonged to Helen Wellington-Lloyd.
