THE BEATLES - PLEASE PLEASE ME LP (ORIGINAL UK STEREO 'BLACK AND GOLD' PCS 3042). An superb condition 1st UK stereo 'black and gold' copy of Please Please Me. This copy is the very first pressing on Parlophone with the distinctive 'black and gold' labels (PCS 3042, with Dick James credits for tracks A1, A2, A6, A7, B4 and B6). The record is in remarkable Ex+ condition. Certainly one of the best condition records left in existence, there are only a couple of extremely minor, faint and wispy paper marks to the playing surfaces which are beautifully clean. With lovely crisp, clean and sharp labels (showing embossed ZMT tax code on side 1) with only a little wear to the side 1 label. Matrix/mother/stampers: YEX 34-1 1 R & YEX 35-1 1 G. Housed with clean original Emitex inner. The first printing large stereo 'right aligned' Angus McBean credit sleeve is in VG condition. The front sharp and glossy with some minor laminate wear, there is a paper tear along the top right section of the reverse flipback tab, though this is not a complete tear and as stated a 'surface' paper tear. There is also a small section of the bottom right section flipback tab missing. With 'No 25' in pen next to the catalogue number on the reverse. There are no seam splits with the spine clean and fully legible. A 'final upgrade' LP with a solid sleeve.
